We have talked about sugar before but did you known that total sugar intake has increased to upto 67 kg sugar consumption per year per person in some countries. This increase includes the increase consumption of soda drinks, processed foods including cereals and ready-made meals.
This increased sugar consumption is bad for us on so many levels:
- for our teeth
- for our liver
- increases the risk for metabolic syndrome and diabetes
- the effect it has on the brain and our hormones

The recommendation is a maximum of nine added teaspoons for men, six for women and five for teenagers; added meaning not in fruit or vegetables.
